I regularly mention in my posts on methods to check if the pan is hot enough to proceed, so I figure I will start a “tips” category that I can just refer to in the future. I hope you can find helpful tips in this section.

Ingredient to use:
Using a cup, add some water into the pan/skillet.
Put the pan/skillet onto the stove, turn heat on high. Water will start to bubble.
Pan/skillet is hot when water is completely evaporated.
If using oil instead of water, pan is hot when you see light smoke coming out of the pan/skillet.
